The latest ultrasonic flow meter by Sonic Driver was retrofitted by PA-Energy with configuration guidance on-site by Sonic Driver on a 150mm LTHW (Low temperature Hot Water) line at the Energy pumping centre at Newham General Hospital.
Located in Plaistow in the vibrant East End of London, it provides all the services expected of a local hospital, including emergency care, surgery, women’s and children’s health, maternity services, specialist medicine and more.
The existing in-line mechanical meter, which records heating flow was unserviceable and the clamp-on ultrasonic device provided a non-invasive, minimum disruption means to resolving the problem without the need for system drain-down or isolations.
Percy Albuquerque, Director commented “The Sonic Driver Fixed-UFM is working well and the pre and post order support has been good. The meter is currently supplying flow measurement for an existing integrator but it has the capacity for a plug-in upgrade to a full hydronic heat meter with integral Modbus communication, which we will investigate for future applications”.
