Sonic Driver offer a range of accessories to complement their range of Portable and Fixed installation flowmeters.
Software and App
The MOBILE-UFM uses an App (Android) which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
The MODBUS WALL-UFM and the Ultrasonic Flow Transmitter use a configuration program running on a PC under Windows.
Serial Communications
Our engineers use the following RS232 and RS485 (Modbus RTU) cable adaptors when installing and commissioning our flowmeters.
For Modbus RTU the FTDI USB to RS485 Converter for industrial control is available from TechnoFix UK.
For RS232 download a USB-RS232 converter cable is required. A suitable cable would be USB-RS232-WE-1800-BT-3.3, USB to RS232 converter cable, wire-ends, 3V3, 1.8m. Farnell order code 2352006
Power Supplies
Our engineers use this 20Ah Power Bank Charger from Farnell for extended operation of the Pocket Plus flowmeter on site, this gives in excess of 100 hours life.
Sensors
The Sonic Driver flow sensor family includes 4 sensor frequencies and physical sizes
to cover the range of pipe outer diameter 10 to 6500 mm.

The sensors are matched in production using sophisticated methods and our
extensive knowledge of sensor design and performance to give excellent zero flow
stability.
Materials of manufacture are chosen to give excellent stability with temperature, time
and chemical tolerance.
The sensors have standard and optional; temperature range, cable length and
Ingress Protection ratings.
Our Ingress protection IP68 is tested to 1.5 m for 30 minutes.
DM Sensors

Cable Extensions
The user can specify cable extensions up to 30 m in length. Specially cut lengths are individually assembled to order using quality Lemo fittings.
Mounting Accessories
Sonic Driver’s rugged mounting brackets are designed to attach DN and DM sensors to pipes from 10 to 300 mm outer diameter.
The sensors can be installed on larger pipes up to 750 mm outer diameter using Sonic Driver chain clamps.
The user can also install the sensors using 10 mm wide jubilee clip if so desired.
Sonic Driver can also supply water based coupling gel for use with temporary installation. For more permanent installation we recommend silicone grease.
Input and Output Plug-in Modules
The FIXED-UFM and the MODBUS WALL-UFM can be fitted with a range of input and output plug-in modules to suite many applications for measurement and control.
